T-Pot

T-Pot is an open-source honeypot developed by T-Mobile used to simulate vulnerable nodes which security analysts use to catch potential network breaches.

I am a big fan of T-Pot and it ELK inspired GUI which I used in my homelabs to simulate several vulnerable services. I place a honeypot both within my LAN and directly on the WAN (which is done for security research).

In a professional setting I used Thinkst Canary which in my opinion is an inferior honeypot, but to Thinkst credit it has almost no learning curve.
