A great auditing tool is the backbone of any effective security plan. It can help you visualize network and system traffic, perform quick incident response, and adjust policies as needed based on observed trends.

Although Solarwinds is a notable name in this field. Netwrix is a great upcoming auditing software that can monitor all sorts of systems and notify you. It replaced the powershell scripts I had written for the sole reason that netwrix offered a visualization which made understanding the data it parsed through easier.

With the help of the netwrix solutions engineer we deployed the solution to monitor Windows AD events that are indicators of compromise. As well as notifying users before there AD passwords expire.
